FSSC 22000
FSSC 22000 is a framework to manage effectively food safety and quality responsibilities. Organization who wish to get certified need to develop and implement food safety management system (FSMS). As a management system certification scheme, the FSSC 22000 Scheme is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and supported by the European Food and Drink Association (CIAA) and the American Groceries Manufacturing Association (GMA). It is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), an international collaboration between food safety experts, retailers, manufacturers, and service providers with the goal of enhancing food safety throughout the supply chain. FSSC 22000 scheme ISO 22000, Sector Specific PRP’s and adds additional requirements for consistency, integrity, governance and management of the scheme. In case of already certified organization against ISO 22000, just an additional review against sector relevant PRP’s and compliance of additional requirement will be required to get the certification of FSSC Scheme.

PRPs are basic conditions and activities necessary to maintain a hygienic environment throughout the food chain. Organizations seeking FSSC 22000 certification undergo an audit process to assess their compliance with the standard’s requirements. Certification is typically granted by certification bodies.
