HALAL

HALAL is “what is allowed” in Islam. Muslims in the every part of world prefer to eat HALAL Food. Rapid growth in Muslim population is changing the intake habits and lifestyles which created a demand for Halal foods and services in manifolds. Multinational Food chains like Nestle, Mc Donald’s, KFC, Unilever and many more are opting for Halal food. Not only in the food, the HALAL also covers the animal feeds, animal farming, slaughtering, food supply chains, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and many more sectors.

Halal certification is a process that verifies and ensures that products and services comply with Islamic dietary laws (halal means “permissible” in Arabic). Halal certification is particularly important for food and beverage products, but it can also apply to other goods and services, including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and financial products.

Measures to prevent cross-contamination with non-Halal products during production, storage, and transportation are essential. Dedicated equipment and facilities are required to ensure the integrity of Halal products.

The certification process involves an assessment by a Halal certifying body or authority. This body evaluates the entire production process, from sourcing raw materials to manufacturing and distribution, to ensure that the products meet Halal requirements.

Halal certification is not only relevant for Muslim-majority countries but also for businesses that want to tap into the global Halal market, which includes Muslim consumers worldwide. Many non-Muslim-majority countries have also recognized the economic importance of the Halal market and have implemented Halal certification processes to cater to the needs of Muslim consumers.
